Plaza Herrera
This plaza emerged after the fire of 1781. The devastated area gradually turned into what was known as the Triumph Plaza, focal point for festivals and bullfights. In 1887 it received the name of Plaza Herrera in honour of the Panamanian General Tomas Herrera. The equestrian sculpture was made by the French sculptor Augusto Denis.
